Pythagoras kept us busy this morning as we took (from posters in the bathroom) the rough measurements of the tram line and vertical feet to calculate the distance to the center of Rendezvous Peak and therefore an estimate of total depth of the mountain (to cardiac ridge area)…if it were a perfect isosceles triangle (which it is not). Our Calculations reveal the rough distance to the center of the mountain is about 2.38 miles which means the overall size of the mountain at the base (could be) around 5 miles long! WHOA! Here’s the math, read up kids!

Rossignol Experience 98

The new Experience 98 is a powerful all-mountain charger that combines beefy construction with a surprising versatility and ease-of-use for strong expert skiers. AutoTurn Rocker combines a slightly rockered tip and tail with traditional camber underfoot to create a ski equally at home floating through deep pow or laying trenches on groomers. On hardpack and variable snow the traditional camber delivers power, energy and edge grip while the rockered tip and tail dramatically improves turn initiation. Combined with a 98mm waist, the AutoTurn Rocker profile blasts through chop and crud and floats through the silky deep. Ski pow all morning, rip groomers in the afternoon, all on one super-powered ski. Whether charging glades, bowls or hardpack the Experience 98 is a true one-ski-quiver and a new breed of all-mountain high performance skis.

The experience 98 is Rossignol’s version of the quiver of one ski. The E98 skis the entire hill very well. If you are looking for one ski that will excell at everything and eliminate the need to haul multiple pairs of skis around with you this is a great option.

Rossignol Experience 98 Specifics

• Sidecut: 139-98-128
• The Experience 98 is made with fiberglass, wood and titanium.

2012 Faction Vive le Mono

Over the pass three weeks we have received several feet of snow. And it was great, it was fun. Lots of POW to go around for everyone. Now the temperature has climbed high, and the weather is warm and sunny. It feels like spring here in Jackson Hole, not that spring is here because in the next few days it looks like the snow will return. But with this warm weather why not try something new and different and fun. Why not try Faction’s mono board… VIVE LE MONO!!!!!!

This hard charging mono board is so much fun. Designed for big mountain, free riding, it is stiff and stable. At first it is a little intimidating to have both your feet secured to a board facing forward, but once you get comfortable with it, you have the ability to just cruise the mountain.

We have two for rent down here at Teton Village Sports. Great for some spring time fun, or some deep powder turns. Why not try this 188-under-foot mono board?

Description

Seven years of ski design. Rocker technology. Flat camber. STP technology, all leading to this… the Mono Ski. Why bother with all that hassle of trying to keep two legs heading in the same direction, when you can simply click in, push off and Euro-style your way through any terrain or snow condition… and arrive in style. The future is here. The future is mono.

Features

Sandwich construction • Full-length poplar core with birch stringers • Low-rise tail • Medium-stiff flex • Anti-chipping sidewalls • Fill-wrap one-piece edge • Ptex-4000 die-cut bases • ABS tail protector
