Last night I had the honor of mountain biking with two Jackson Hole legends. The honor was all on this side of the table. I was a little nervous as I had never ridden with these two distinguished local mountain biking heroes. We had a nice ride in the greater Cache Creek/Snow King area. Then it happened, my handle bars got hung up on a bush and I was sent flying over the bars and into a buck rail fence. Very exciting as I haven’t had a big wreck in a while. No serious injuries other than my pride. A few bloody appendages and a sub-dermal hematoma on my gluteus maximus. The real issue is that I don’t think I will be invited back for the Wednesday night men’s ride. That was my once chance at the big time and I blew it.

WOW I just found out (and this could be a lie–be warned) that the two legends were JEFF BROWN and SEAN MACAULEY. Even though I heard this from the mouth of JB, I’m still not sure that I fully believe it. In the 6 years that I’ve known him, JB has never, not once, mentioned any intentions on getting on a mountain bike. Again, WOW.
I still don’t know if this really happened, it is just too unlikely. An anomaly, if you will.
